2022 Commencement Ceremony

The 2022 Commencement Ceremony for American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) was held at the prestigious New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Thursday, May 26, 2022. With over 200 excited graduates, 20 distinguished dignitaries, a host of helpful AUA staff, and countless proud family members and friends in attendance, it was a magnificent celebration of achievement.

There were also a number of past or present esteemed AUA medical professionals that spoke at the ceremony. Among them were Dr. Peter Bell, who completed numerous national and international rescue missions as an emergency physician with German Air Rescue; alumna Dr. Melanie Nukala, who is board certified in general and vascular surgery; and AUA President and Founder Neal Simon, JD, who was named Ambassador-at-Large for Antigua and Barbuda in 2015.

Commencement came to a close with our Keynote Speaker, New Jersey Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. Congressman Pascrell is the co-chairman and founder of the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force, which has raised the nation’s awareness of the dangers of traumatic brain injury (TBI). His inspirational speech sent our students off into the world with the necessary motivation to achieve all they’ve ever dreamed of and more. With their AUA medical education and an ever-expanding network of accomplished alumni and affiliates, we are confident that our 2022 graduates are destined for greatness, and give them all our most sincere congratulations!
