The loan options available to finance your medical education can be confusing. Throughout your years of medical school at AUA, the Office of Financial Aid will work closely with you to ensure that you have the necessary information to make informed financial aid decisions. Submitting the FAFSA is not the only step you must take for your loans to be processed. Use the information on this page as your guide to assist you with successfully navigating AUA’s financial aid application processes.
The information on this page will help you to:

- Complete and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)
- Complete and submit an Entrance Counseling Session
- Complete and submit your Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Apply for a Direct PLUS Loan (Only for students wishing to borrow PLUS Loans)
- Complete and submit your Grad Plus Master Promissory Note (MPN)

Note that despite the submission of your FAFSA and your loan requests, in some instances you may still be required to provide additional information for your loans to be disbursed successfully.
Verification Counselors review all the applications/documents required to successfully process your financial aid.

Once your Verification is complete, you will be assigned to a Confirmation Counselor. Confirmation Counselors will package you, i.e. put together your award letter, after you have been successfully verified.

The processing of your applications and your receipt of an award letter may take up to 3 to 4 weeks. The Bursar’s Office will credit your account for tuition, fees, and other institutional charges within 3 business days of receiving the funds, and disburse any credit balance to you within 14 days.
